Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream (at least 36% fat)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, water, and sugar until melted. Bring to a gentle boil, then stir in flour until fully incorporated.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before adding eggs one at a time. Mix until smooth and glossy.
  4. Using a piping bag or spoon, portion small mounds of dough onto the prepared sheets, leaving space between each.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Avoid opening the oven door during baking.
  6. While cooling, whip heavy cream with vanilla until soft peaks form. Slice cooled cream puffs open and fill with whipped cream.
