  • 1 lb beef flank steak, sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil (divided)
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients by slicing the beef against the grain and chopping broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Marinate the beef with soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, brown sugar, and cornstarch for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Stir-fry broccoli until bright green and tender-crisp (about 3-4 minutes). Remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, add marinated beef in a single layer. Cook until browned on both sides (about 4-5 minutes).
  5. Return broccoli to skillet, add minced garlic and ginger, stirring everything together for another minute until fragrant.
  6. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
