Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate (at least 60% cocoa), chopped
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp peppermint extract
  • ½ cup crushed candy canes
  • ½ cup chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Melt dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk and melted butter. Gradually add melted chocolate while stirring. Sift in cocoa powder and mix until smooth.
  3. Stir in peppermint extract until evenly distributed.
  4. Chill mixture covered for about one hour until firm.
  5. Shape into one-inch balls and roll in crushed candy canes or chocolate sprinkles.
  6. Place finished truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
