  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the red velvet cake mix, melted butter, 2 eggs, and water until combined. Pour half into the prepared pan.
  3. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add sour cream, vanilla extract, and remaining eggs; mix until just combined.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the red velvet batter. Spoon the remaining batter on top and swirl if desired.
  5. Bake for 55-65 minutes until edges are set but center jiggles slightly. Turn off the oven and let cool in the oven for an hour.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
