- 2 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced (about 1/8 inch thick)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for greasing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Heat until warmed through but not boiling.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the Gruyère cheese. Repeat with remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
