  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 4 cups fresh apples, peeled and sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. In another bowl, combine sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and eggs until coated. Spread the apple mixture over the crust.
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbling around the edges.
  5. Allow cooling completely before slicing into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
