- 16 oz elbow macaroni
- 3 cups cooked shredded chicken breast
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cups whole milk
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil macaroni in salted water for 2 minutes less than package instructions; drain.
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat, then whisk in flour for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in milk until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in 3 cups of cheddar cheese until melted.
- Fold in the cooked macaroni, shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, and smoked paprika.
- Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish and top with the remaining 1 cup of cheese.
- Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbling.
