Description

These simple Greek Yogurt Waffles come together quickly and make a protein packed breakfast the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/4 cup 2% milk {or milk of your choice}
  • 2/3 cup full fat Greek Yogurt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom {optional}
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cardamom {optional}, salt and mix until well combined. Set aside.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients in Mixer: In a Kitchenmaid mixer or a blender combine the milk, yogurt, eggs, vanilla, honey and mix on low until combined.
  3. Add the Dry Ingredients: Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until combined. Don't over mix the batter or it will be rubbery when you make the waffles.
  4. Cook Waffles: Heat a Belgium waffle iron over medium heat until it is heated up and the light goes off. Spray with non-stick spray and pour about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of batter in the middle of the waffle iron. Close the iron and cook until crisp and golden brown, about 4 minutes.
  5. Repeat using the remaining batter. Enjoy warm with fresh fruit or freeze the waffles for later.
